Along with lakes Kiitämä and Kirpistö, the landscape of Heikkilä is dominated by the high Mouruvaara, from where views of Kiitämäjärvi and Nuorunen on the Russian side open up.
On the slope of Mouruvaara, one can find a large stone with a sign resembling the symbol of the Orthodox. It has been speculated that the stone is either a boundary stone from the time of the Treaty of Teusina or a seida stone of the Forest Sámi.
Information about the stone can be found on the website of the Finnish Heritage Agency. Museoviraston verkkosivuilta
