The 14-kilometre long Muojärvi is famous for its lake salmon. Muojärvi flows into Lake Joukamojärvi, but a small part of its waters flows north into the Kuusinkijoki waterway.
Muojärvi has several islands belonging to the Natura area, the largest of which is Porosaari. The campfire places can be found, for example, in Korkeasaari near the village.
